How To Inject Some Colour Into An All-White Kitchen

If you have just moved house, you might not have the finances to renovate or redecorate the kitchen. However, this doesn’t mean you have to put up with a boring interior design for years on end, as there are many ways you can spruce up simple decor without spending a fortune – including adding a pop of colour into an all-white room.

- Colourful tiles

You might have white cupboards, white splashboards, white appliances, and a white worktop – but you can totally transform a kitchen simply by fitting brightly coloured tiles.

If you’re feeling bold, why not go for a vibrant orange colour? Or you could create a really distinct Graecian look by installing deep blue mosaic effect tiles that will complement your white fixtures beautifully.

- One bold statement

Your injection of colour doesn’t have to take over the whole room to make a statement though, and simply changing one item could make all the difference.

For instance, if you have an island, you could change the worktop here to a bright shade, such as red, while leaving the other worktops as they are. Alternatively, you could fit a brightly coloured sink or appliance in the room – this will certainly make guests do a double take when they come to visit.

- Update small appliances

While painting cupboards, changing the floor or getting new tiles will all make permanent changes to your kitchen, you don’t have to go quite so big if you don’t have the courage or money to do so.

Instead, you could brighten up a kitchen simply by getting matching small appliances in a bold shade. For instance, a lipstick red or mustard yellow toaster and kettle set could work just as well.
