Get A Tiled Splashback

If you can’t afford mosaic effect wall tiles around your whole kitchen, then could you have a tiled splashback?

If you are designing your next kitchen then one of the most fun tasks can be deciding on the finishing touches to the room, to make it truly your own.

If you love kitchen tiles but can’t afford to cover your whole kitchen then plan for a tiled splashback instead. A splashback is placed behind an oven or sink and stops the paintwork from being affected by splashes and stains from food and washing up.

To make them really impact consider the following:

Chose strong geometric shapes that will make an eye-catching display wherever they are placed. Hexagons are popular at the moment, but squares can also be used to make a strong statement when used on an angle.

Non-tessellating shapes can be used with others to create patterns.

Triangles are a great choice for simple, clean lines and an industrial look.

The world is your oyster here. White is a classic that can be used with a number of different designs and looks, though you can create a warmer look with strong colour.

Pastels are great in country kitchens, or you could use inspiration from Moroccan and Spanish tiles to create a really bold design.

Black is great for a strong look, particularly if you are only going to use it over small part of your kitchen such as a splashback. This will look good alongside whites, metallic and purples.
