A kitchen redesign project can be a big undertaking, and isn’t something that you’re going to want to redo every couple of years, so it pays to think carefully about the style you’re opting for and making sure that everything ties in.
So Glos recently highlighted some of the top kitchen design trends and we think a few of them will be around for a while.
One theme is the introduction of more colour into kitchens. This can be achieved through the use of accent items - like colourful fridges or toasters - by painting walls in a bright shade, or by picking vibrant kitchen tiles in Middlesex.
The magazine showcased the use of bright colours, as well as noting that unicorn kitchens are a separate trend of their own. Think pastel shades for walls and tiles, with clean, white gloss cupboards. There are even a host of unicorn-themed accessories you can pick up to complete the look.
Metallics and copper are another trend that’s been around for a while and that’s set to continue as a firm favourite in our kitchens.
You can opt for a look with industrial overtones to incorporate these elements effectively - scaffolding-style shelving, copper accessories and the use of pipework brackets were among the suggestions to achieve this style.
Scandinavian-style open shelving is another look that’s proving popular - and this is a great opportunity to have a larger tiled surface as the backdrop to your shelves.
This could be particularly appealing given that a number of interior experts recently highlighted the resurgence in popularity of tiles in home decor. Speaking to the Associated Press, they noted that colour and texture are among the most important things to consider when choosing tiles for your home.
